Foodies Create Recipe for Good Time
Local Cooking Club Fires Up with Organizational Meeting
Bradenton, Florida, August 27, 2007 – The popularity of the Food Network, television shows like Bravo’s Top Chef, and Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen has helped to develop the country’s new foodie culture. America is enjoying a growing fascination with creating great meals and sharing them with friends.
Connecting with others who also delight in good food has eluded many. The foodies are generally the party hosts in each circle of appreciative friends. Now these epicureans can join together in their passion for culinary adventure. Get Together GourmetsTM, a new cooking club in Bradenton, is holding an organizational meeting on Saturday, September 15, 2007. Anyone interested in meeting other foodies and participating in an ongoing cooking club is invited to register for this free gathering. The organizational meeting is 6pm – 8pm at Duncan’s Creative Kitchens, 5529 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton. Scott Duncan, owner of Duncan’s Creative Kitchens and a big foodie himself, explained his reasons for starting Get Together GourmetsTM, “As a kitchen designer, my role is to have conversations with clients about how they live in and use their kitchens. I have found that the folks who are most pleased with their remodeled kitchens are the foodies – the ones who really love to cook and entertain.I also happen to be one of those people. I love trying out new recipes and getting together with friends for a good time. I thought, ‘Why not bring all of these people together?’ And that’s why Get Together GourmetsTM was established.”
The goal of Get Together GourmetsTM is to connect people with similar food interests, assist them in organizing a monthly gathering, and heighten the appreciation of good food. Membership in Get Together GourmetsTM is free – the only expense to members is the cost of ingredients in the dishes they prepare. It is open to individuals or small groups. The only requirements to join are a love of food & cooking and a desire to get together on a monthly basis to try new recipes while making new friends.
